How to find your phone's IMEI number and battery health
Updated 23 September 2026
Find your IMEI
The IMEI is your phone's unique ID. Buyers use it to check the phone isn't reported stolen.
- Any phone: open the dialler and type *#06#.
- iPhone: Settings → General → About.
- Android: Settings → About phone.
- It's also printed on the original box — the box should match the phone.
Check battery health
- iPhone: Settings → Battery → Battery Health (called Battery Health & Charging on some versions). Look at “Maximum Capacity”.
- Samsung: open the Samsung Members app → Support → Phone diagnostics → Battery status.
- Other Android phones: look in Settings → Battery. Many Android phones don't show a health percentage — that's normal.
Why it matters
For iPhones we ask for the battery health: more than 85%, 80–85%, or “Battery service” (below 80% or a Service message). For other phones we simply ask if the battery is fine. A weaker battery lowers the price a little. Answer honestly so your price doesn't change at pickup.
